Abstract

In this era of astronomy there are a large number of successful, ongoing or planned major extragalactic surveys covering large fractions of the sky and all parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. Many more such surveys will almost certainly be initiated in the coming years as astronomers from across the globe work together to further our understanding of the evolution of galaxies in our Universe. In this Specialist Discussion meeting we'll bring together national and internationally leading astronomers working on extragalactic surveys in all parts of the electromagnetic spectrum.

This Specialist Discussion meeting is part of the Royal Astronomical Society's celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first women RAS Fellows.  “The Way to the Stars" - a dramatized celebration of the history of women astronomers leading up their admission as Fellows of the RAS in 1916 will be shown in the Ordinary Meeting directly after this.

Information on venue can be found on the RAS website.
